6 Tips on How to be the Best Mom and Nurse

Qualified nurses

If you are Nurse, first of all - Thank you. Being a nurse itself requires commitment and lots of running around the hospital trying to get things done. On the top of it if you are also a Mom and juggling kids - kudos to you! That too requires a lot of running around, sheer patience and unconditional love. So on this Mother's Day and Nurse's Week, we bring you some suggestion and tips on how to make the best of the both roles.

1. Divide and Conquer
Coming back from a hectic routine to a messy house can put a damp in anyone's mood. Best is to divide and conquer. Get your little ones involved if they are old enough to do house chores. Put a chore wheel on your fridge and assign tasks daily. Kids will learn to help and share responsibilities. You don't have to do it all in one day. Assign days to laundry, detailed house cleaning, grocery runs, etc.

2. Take advantage of your commute
Are you studying something? Preparing for an exam or just want to read something? This is your chance. Take advantage of your commute by making plans ahead of time. Use voice recorder to make to-do lists. Read up on study materials and keep up to date.

3. Build a command center
Command centers are best for families that need an organizing unit. Become the most organized Mom ever. Create a command center with memo boards, baskets for letters, receipts, bills and menus. Add a place for keys so you don't have to waste time looking for them in the morning. You can also add sturdy hooks to hold kid's school bags, umbrellas, and jackets.

4. Prepare! Prepare! Prepare!
Always be ready for anything. If one of the kids falls sick, is there someone who could look after them? Would you be able to take off from work? - Set a system in place so that you are not caught off guard and start to panic. Do food preps on your days off. Make salads, cut up vegetables, fruits for smoothies and finger foods for kids. So when it's time to make lunch or dinner you don't have to start from the scratch and can save a lot of time.

5. All what technology has to offer

Download apps like your bank's mobile app so you could pay your bills on the go and from anywhere. A calendar to keep track of your kid's events such as recitals, talent shows, games, etc. Find healthy recipes and one-pot meals ideas from cooking apps. If you can't go out and get something, find an alternative online and get it delivered to your doorstep.

6. Find some time for yourself
Most of all don't forget to take some time off for you. Be it a spa day with friends or a wanting to cozy up with a good book - Do it. Carving out some time out can be challenging but is much needed. Recharge your batteries and feel better. Start an another day with a good attitude
